AEMTA Membership

The Arkansas EMT Association is just the ticket for those seeking to develop their skills or to share ideas with people of similar backgrounds.

AEMTA is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to EMS excellence. The Association strives to promote the professional status of the First Responder and EMT and encourages continuing education through its focus on current concepts of emergency care.

MEMS Paramedic James Binkley

The AEMTA would like everyone to keep the Binkley family, MEMS and all those involved in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. As you may know MEMS Paramedic James Binkley was involved in a serious wreck yesterday morning (12-17-2014) while on duty. Mr. Binkley is in intensive care at Baptist and we all hope and pray for a speedy recovery.

Gordon Allan Light – Survival Flight Pilot

Gordon Allan Light, age 59, of Bristol, TN passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 24, 2014 in Kennett, Missouri.

Gordon was born in Johnson City, TN and was a 1973 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was extremely generous and had a great sense of humor. He was committed to completing every task he undertook. He retired from the U. S. Army after 22 years of service obtaining the rank of Warrant Officer 4 as a helicopter pilot. Gordon was presently serving as a pilot for Survival Flight and was previously employed at Bristol Broadcasting Company becoming a well known radio personality. Gordon’s family gave him the most enjoyment in life. He loved photography and filming videos.

Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Inez Light; and brother, Robert Light.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Angie Light; daughter, Lauren Light; son, Randy Light and wife Stevi; granddaughter, Mikaya Light; and brothers, Thomas Light, Kenny Light and Jerome Light.

AEMTA / Emergency Support Response Team

The AEMTA/ESRT will have it’s first training class for the Emergency Support Response Team. This is the first step to get us ready to start responding.

The training will be held in Pine Bluff, AR at the Watson Chapel Fire Department, January 24, 2015, at 8:00 AM and last until we are finished.

It isn’t to late to join where you can be part of helping your neighbors and friends in their time of need
