Dennis Wayne Wormington, age 39 of Texarkana, Texas died Saturday, November 30, 2013. Dennis was born in Texarkana, TX on April 19, 1974. He graduated from Texas High School in 1992.
Dennis graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice/Biology. While attending UALR Dennis was elected President of the UALR Associated Student Government and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity.
In 1999, Dennis earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the William H. Bowen School of Law, University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He was admitted to the Arkansas Bar Association in 2000 and was a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in the 22nd Judicial District serving Saline County, Arkansas from 2000-2003.
Dennis has been a practicing attorney in Texarkana since 2003 and was admitted to the Texas Bar Association in 2004. He was also a member of the Texas Young Lawyers Association, the Texarkana Bar Association, and the Texarkana Young Lawyers Association.
Dennis was also the owner of 2ManyIrons, a business specializing in screen printing and photography. In addition, he was a nationally registered Emergency Medical Technician having worked for MEMS in Little Rock, AR and LifeNet in Texarkana. He officiated Collegiate Soccer and was a member of the National Intercollegiate Soccer Association. Dennis also worked as a certified law enforcement officer for the Benton, Arkansas Police Department.
Dennis was active in the community serving as President of the Texarkana Soccer Association and volunteering on the Board of the Pleasant Grove Youth Association. Dennis was a member of Heritage Baptist Church of Texarkana.
Dennis was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Adora Wormington, H.W. and Virginia Ward, and brother-in-law Steven Pickle. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Wormington of Texarkana and sons Austin, Zachary, and Hayden, his mother, Judy Pittman and step-father Howard of Texarkana, his father David Wormington and step-mother Lucky of Texarkana, sister Susan Pickle-Starrett and husband Stacy of DeKalb, TX, step-sister, Stephani Allred of Sallisaw, OK, step-brother, Donny Hancock of Wake Village, TX, and special niece, Taylor Pickle, and special nephew, Tyler Pickle of DeKalb, TX. In addition, Dennis is survived by many family members and friends.
